On day 3 we decided to do some sightseeing by car around the Nicoya peninsula. Of course we brought our flyrods and all our gear along as well. We visited some of the beaches nearby to try for roosterfish.
All geared up and ready for the beaches:
There were some big fish chasing mullets at the beaches, but we did not manage to hook any of them. After some hours of flyslinging at several beaches without any takes, we went back to the resort to chill out a bit.
Our resort is called Bahia Rica and is run by a Norwegian couple, Thomas & Vidgis. The service, food and fishing was really good so we can recommend it for anyone interested in flyfishing from beaches or from a boat.
You can find them on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BahiaRica

On the following day we went offshore to try for sailfish and dorado. To be continued… 🙂
